Art a la Carte – Young Arts sampler classes running November through March

Art a la carte is a Young Arts program with  sampler classes for kids ages 18 months through 7 years. Every Thursday through the winter come to MoCo for a unique range of activities including theater, dance, crafts, and puppetry.

Each class meets 11:15 – 11:45am at MoCo Arts. No pre-registration required. $5 /class.

Art a la Carte 2017 – 2018 Schedule

November 9: Drama – Harold and the Purple Crayon
Act out this classic story using props, singing, dancing and imagination.

November 16: Music & Me
A mix of singing, circle dances, finger-plays, instrumental play-alongs with percussion music and creative movement.

(NO ART A LA CARTE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd)

November 30: Drum Time
Bang the drum, rattle the shakers and ring the bells. A noisy and fun exploration of rhythm and music making… the percussive way.

December 7: Stay-n-Play
A supervised play time using studio equipment such as ball pit, tunnels, hula hoops, balance beams and more. Get out your energy during the cold weather!

December 14: Bells are Ringing
Join friends in ringing the bells to make a joyful noise. Using colorful, simple hand bells designed for children, we will play the scales and some simple tunes.

(NO ART A LA CARTE THURSDAY, DECMEBER 21 & 28)

January 4: Puppetry
Hand puppets, finger puppets, string puppets and more! Children will learn about and use a variety of puppets to create little songs and skits. Puppets are expressive, funny and dramatic, inspiring children’s imaginations.

January 11: Dress-Up Day
Big boxes and baskets of crazy costumes to try on and create a style all your own! Use your imagination and creativity. Lots of silly and fancy fun!

January 18: Music: Away We Go!
Using a transportation theme, we will explore music concepts of fast/slow, loud/quiet, high/low, etc. Playful finger games, singing and creative movement will make this a blast!

January 25: Stay-n-Play
A supervised play time using studio equipment such as ball pit, tunnels, hula hoops, balance beams and more. Get out your energy during the cold weather!

February 1: Drama-The Gingerbread Man
Using masks and props, dance, sing and act out the story with your friends.

February 8: Drum Time
Bang the drum, rattle the shakers and ring the bells. A noisy and fun exploration of rhythm and music making… the percussive way.

February 15: Dress-Up Day
Big boxes and baskets of crazy costumes to try on and create a style all your own! Use your imagination and creativity. Lots of silly and fancy fun!

February 22: Karaoke
Take up the microphone and sing all time favorites like the ABCs, Twinkle Little Star and Happy Birthday in front of a supportive and cheering audience of our little MoCo friends.

March 8: Puppetry

A supervised play time using studio equipment such as ball pit, tunnels, hula hoops, balance beams and more. Get out your energy during the cold weather!
