See Breathtaking Dance at MoCo Arts Annual Repertory Showcase Time To Dance

(Keene, NH) –  Usher in the spring at MoCo’s annual dance repertory showcase on Saturday, March 18 at 7:00pm and MoCo_TimeToDanceSunday, March 19 at 2:00pm & 5:00pm at the MoCo Arts Black Box Theatre. It’s Time To Dance at MoCo Arts! Performed by advanced dancers, Time To Dance features original choreography by MoCo staff.

The intimate setting of the Black Box Theatre allows the audience to connect with each piece in a way they have never experienced dance before. Experience feelings from joy to sadness, humor to passion, and everything in between all in the same show.

Time To Dance features many different styles of dance,” says Casie Coffman, a senior at Monadnock Regional High School and student at MoCo Arts. “Some pieces are really upbeat and others are softer. My favorite is a ballet piece to “Tiny Dancer”, it addresses a group of seniors who are approaching their last time dancing together and are moving on to many new things, including experiences outside of dance.”

The MoCo Arts School of Dance offers a variety of classes for children grades 2nd through 12th, with many levels of each discipline available. Kids younger than 2nd grade are invited to join MoCo’s Creative Dance program, a fun introduction to different styles of dance. Classes focus on the technical development of each student, learning the fundamentals of each discipline. MoCo welcomes all students where they are in their movement and creative arts journey – beginners through advanced.

Advanced dancers in Ballet and Modern have the opportunity to participate in repertory classes in addition to their technique classes at MoCo. These classes provide students valuable time in the studio to practice and improve.

“Repertory classes at MoCo are used for learning and rehearsing choreography for performances,” says Coffman. “We also take technique classes that warm up our bodies, and give us time to solidify our technique so that these skills carry over to the choreography. It is important to have both classes because you are given time to focus on what’s important. You have a set period of time to concentrate on improving yourself, and then time to simply focus on the choreography.”
