The MoCo Arts School of Art set out to be a community-based art school providing a place to explore and excel in the visual arts for students of all ages and it filled an important void in the greater Keene community for adult fine art training and after school children’s programming. Due to issues concerning space, curriculum, and administration, the school is ceasing operations as a separate program of MoCo Arts until the issues have been adequately addressed. MoCo Arts visual arts programming will now be focused in our Camps, Young Arts, and Theater programs.
We recognize the continuing need for more advocacy and programmatic support of the fine arts, and fine artists, in Keene and anticipate the time in the not too distant future when MoCo Arts will be able to provide appropriate leadership, programmatic structure, and sufficient space in support of craftspeople and fine art makers throughout the greater Keene area. In the meantime, we look forward to partnering with other arts organizations in the region to try to meet those needs.
