For the third year in a row, MoCo Arts will be making free tickets available to
other area nonprofit groups. Through its 
Community Star Seats program, there will be 180 tickets made possible in part by a donation from C&S Wholesale Grocers. These tickets to many of MoCo’s biggest shows will be distributed through nonprofit organizations in the Monadnock Region that serve vulnerable families and youth.
The Community Stars Seats is an initiative designed to bring children and families to live theatre and dance performances who otherwise couldn’t afford to attend. This initiative is part of MoCo’s ARTreach program and continuing commitment to making the arts accessible to all.
Groups that have participated have included Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire, Keene Housing, Monadnock Family Services, the Keene Community Kitchen, and other area organizations.
“I am always excited when MoCo tells me that they have tickets available,” says Karen Brook, Special Programs Coordinator with Big Brothers Big Sisters New Hampshire. “Their generosity has meant that our Bigs and Littles have seen everything from The Nutcracker to musicals to amazing dance performances done by local youth. Often, this is the first time our Littles have seen a stage performance and it ends up being a special memory that the Big gets to share with them.”
